Our December 2017 Training Event, Charting the Course for 2018, included three speakers addressing internal audit processes and fraud trends.  Jelena Majkic of Raytheon approached fraud from the internal audit perspective in Combating Fraud: Trends & Techniques.  Ellen Lux of Raytheon spoke to process improvement in internal audit including Six Sigma and Lean in Five Ways to Improve the Process.  Tom O'Reilly from Auditboard spoke on the Practice of Internal Audit, and spoke on effective risk assessments and internal audit processes.  We also collected $335 in donations by cash and check to RI Community food bank along with over 10…

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the 2017 ACFE RI Excellence Awards.  We honored our excellence award recipient and our speaker of the year.  We also awarded our annual scholarship, congratulated new CFEs, and had some great training. 2017 ACFE RI Excellence Award This year, we are pleased to honor Matthew Amsden Special Agent, Internal Revenue Service—Criminal Investigations.
